What NOT To Do As A Bridesmaid

Here are some things you shouldn’t do as a bridesmaid.  Some of these are common sense.  Others are something we do every day like gossip.  Take a look at this list and see what you think.

1.)    Try to convince the bride not to marry the groom the week before the wedding – In fact, this is probably a bad idea to try at all.  She picked the groom for a reason.  Even if he is the biggest jerk in the world, it tends to be a bad idea to get involved in someone else’s relationship.

2.)    Get the bride drunk the night before the wedding – a hung over bride is not going to look good in her wedding dress.  Most women aren’t going to fall for this one, but don’t even suggest drinking the night before the wedding.  All this is going to do is open up a can of worms.

3.)    Tell the bride she looks fat in her wedding dress – this is a really, really bad idea unless you are trying to get kicked out of the wedding party.  Even if she is the biggest cow in the world, make sure you don’t mention weight.  Just tell her she is the most beautiful bride you have ever seen.

4.)    Play any sort of joke on the bride in the week before the wedding – this is no longer the time to fool around.  If you want to bring out bridezilla, then go ahead and try it.  In fact, why don’t you just hide her wedding dress in the attic or something?  Watch what happens.

5.)    Insult the groom in any way, shape or form – now is not the time to say anything negative about the groom.  Before they got engaged was the time to voice your opinion.  Even though a common saying is “never late then never,” this was not meant to apply to weddings.

6.)    Say any part of the wedding or wedding planning was a bad choice – it’s her wedding.  Even if she has the worst taste in the world, don’t say anything.  I’d recommend not even gossiping to your friends until after the wedding.  Especially don’t say anything negative to any of the other bridesmaids.
